What's the weather like in Sri Lanka in July?

Sri Lanka’s an island nation that’s approximately 30km off the southeast coast of India. It has tropical weather with high temperatures all year round. It also has two monsoon seasons; the northeast monsoon’s from October to February, and the southwest’s from May to August. Sri Lanka’s southern central region is mountainous, which has an impact on the island’s climate along with the warm Indian Ocean that surrounds it, and the huge landmass of the Indian subcontinent. July’s within the southwest monsoon, and this means you'll get the most rain in the southwest of the island. This region’s also the wettest in general, with the northwest and southeast coasts generally being the driest. Capital Colombo on the west coast has similar amounts of rain in each monsoon.
