What's the weather like in Mauritius in December?
Mauritius is in the Indian Ocean off the southeast coast of Africa. The island nation has warm weather all year round as it’s close to the Tropic of Capricorn, but also has a distinct wet and dry season. The rainy season starts towards the end of November so there’s quite a bit of rain in December, but you’ll still get lots of hot and sunny weather at this time. The surrounding sea will help to keep you cool and comfortable, and you'll be warmest and driest in the north and west because of Mauritius’ mountains.
Averages
The average high in Mauritius during December’s 29ºC, which is ideal for a winter holiday. Things stay nice and warm in the evenings so you don't need to worry about filling your suitcase with thick clothes. At 27ºC, the sea’s perfect for swimming, while humidity’s high.
