Rhodes is a Greek island that has a whopping 300 days of glorious sunshine each year. Summer is the warmest time to visit Rhodes, with up to 13 hours of sunshine per day. The average temperature is 25°C in June and September peaking at 27°C in August. During your stay, you might witness a heatwave blowing in from the Sahara Desert in North Africa. If this happens, get the suncream ready and expect temperatures to soar to the high-30s. Rainfall in the summer is virtually unheard of, which is great if you want to spend all day lounging on the beach and soaking up the lovely sunshine. If the summer weather is too hot for you, you might want to consider visiting outside of these months, when it’s still hot but more bearable. Temperatures in Rhodes are around 21°C at the start of autumn and gradually cools to 18°C in November. Lows of 14°C are expected after dark, so you might want to take a light jacket with you to stay warm. Rhodes weather is slightly wetter in autumn than the summer with 68mm of rain in October and 105mm over November. Winter weather in Rhodes is around 13°C between December and February with 141mm of rain in December, which is the wettest month of the year. The sea is around 21°C in autumn but dips to just 17°C in January, which is far too cold for a swim. It begins to heat up again in spring, which also sees a rise in daily averages to around 17°C in March with highs of 23°C by the end of May. Spring has over 11 hours of sunshine per day, which is perfect for long days spent out in the sun and sightseeing all the best attractions. In terms of rainfall, you might need a raincoat at the start of the season which has 81mm of rain per month that lessens to just 9mm in May.
