Athens is a popular and lively city in the Attica region of south-east Greece. It enjoys a brilliant Mediterranean climate and is close to pretty sandy beaches in the Saronic Gulf. Athens is often warmer than surrounding rural areas, as the city landscape helps to keep heat in. It’s also one of the sunniest spots in Europe.
