What’s the weather like in Berlin in February?
The weather improves slightly in February, but it’s still very cold with not much sunshine and quite a lot of cloud coverage.
Geographical influences
Berlin is located in northeast Germany, which means it has a typical maritime climate. Winter is usually very cold with temperatures often plummeting below freezing at night. Packing lots of warm clothes is a must, including a hat, gloves and scarf to stay warm when you’re exploring the city. The landscape is quite flat as the city is built on part of the Northern European Plain. Moderate rainfall is expected all year-round, so packing an umbrella is necessary.
Averages
Berlin weather in February is very chilly with an average temperature of 1°C and lows of -2°C at night. The highest you can expect temperatures to rise is around 4°C, which is still very cold. There are just three hours of sunshine a day, with up to 34mm of rainfall across 12 days of the month. The weather remains the same for most of the month, but things begin to warm up slightly towards March as winter comes to an end and spring begins to settle in.
