What's the weather like in Sharm El Sheikh in December?
Sharm El Sheikh’s on Egypt’s Red Sea Coast at the tip of the country’s Sinai Peninsula. This means it has a hot desert climate with high temperatures and hardly any rain all year round. If you're going in December you'll get cooler weather than over summer, which you might find better as it’s more comfortable.
Climatic influences
With only two seasons as opposed to four, summer lasts from March to October in Sharm El Sheikh, with winter from November to February. Although temperatures are lower in December, you'll still have plenty of heat. With hardly any rainfall or cloud cover, you should choose when to go to Sharm El Sheikh based on what temperatures you like best. The Red Sea will help to keep you comfortable, with inland desert areas having even more extreme heat. The Atlas Mountains in North Africa are the reason for the lack of rain.
Averages
The average high in Sharm El Sheikh’s 23ºC in December, which drops to a cool 12ºC at night. The sea temperature’s a lovely 25ºC, while humidity’s low. There’s just 4mm of rain, leaving you to enjoy ten hours of daylight and eight hours of sunshine each day. UV levels will be moderate. Sunset’s just before 5pm.
