What’s the weather like in Protaras in February?
The Protaras weather in February is some of the best in Europe with very mild temperatures and pleasant sunshine. This popular beach resort in Cyprus is quiet this month and visitors enjoy walking along the sandy shoreline and exploring the pretty streets, hills and markets of the island.Geographical influences
Protaras is a coastal hotspot just a few kilometres to the east of Ayia Napa, in the far south east of Cyprus. In winter months the wind speed can increase, especially right next to the Mediterranean, and the water temperature’s cooler. This stops the temperature on the land from rising too high in February.Averages
The weather in Protaras in February sees an enjoyable daily average high temperature of 17°C. The average low shouldn’t go below 18C on colder days. The nights can be mild at this time, at around 16°C, so bring a sweater. Rainfall’s not too high this month, with 38mm falling on average during ten rain-affected days. Sea temperatures average around 16°C, which is probably too cold for a dip in the Mediterranean. You’ll see plenty of winter sunshine in Protaras and around Ayia Napa, with up to seven hours of bright sunlight each day. The sun rises at 6.45am and doesn’t disappear until 5.30pm at the end of February.Ayia Napa
