What’s the weather like in Cyprus in October?

Cyprus’ location close to southwest Asia means that it’s one of the hottest destinations in the Mediterranean. Just off the south coast of Turkey and north of Egypt, you'll get high temperatures and not much rain if you go there in October.

Climatic influences

The Mediterranean Sea will stop you getting too hot in Cyprus due to its cooling waters and breezes. The weather’s similar in the north and south, although the east’s a bit warmer and drier because of westerly winds. This is due to the island’s two mountain ranges, with Mount Olympus the Troodos Mountains’ highest point at almost 2,000m.

Things stay quite comfortable in the evenings but you'll probably want to bring a warmer top, with temperatures cooling to 16ºC at night on average. The sea’s inviting with a temperature of around 24ºC, while humidity’s low and ranges from around 50% to 80%. Rainfall’s just 18mm across three rainy days.
