What’s the weather like in Playacar in August?
With temperatures around 30°C and ten hours of sunshine each day, the wonderful Playacar weather in August attracts lots of visitors. This stunning Mexican resort will get tropical showers this month, but these are often short and sharp and can feel refreshing in the hot climate.
Geographical influences
Playacar’s on the beautiful east coast of Mexico, in the popular Yucatan Peninsula just south of Cancun. The wet season here lasts between May and October and there’s a cool sea breeze from the Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico. Towns further inland can be several degrees hotter and have more humidity than those by the coast.

The weather in Playacar in August sees an average daytime temperature of 28°C. This can often rise to highs of around a balmy 32°C. Take a trip to this part of Mexico’s stunning east coast and you’ll see plenty of sunshine in August, with ten hours on average each day. The sun doesn’t set until nearly 7.30pm at the start of the month. The rainfall average is 150mm for the month, with about 13 days receiving some rain, but showers usually pass quite quickly. The sea is very warm in August and you can expect it to be above 26°C on most days. The wind speeds are moderate but the UV, humidity and heat levels are all high.
