What's the weather like in Playa del Carmen in June?
A picture-perfect destination on Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula, Playa del Carmen is a great place to spend a relaxing beach break. Sitting on the Caribbean Sea, it has a tropical climate with hot weather all year round. Although temperatures are high in June, this is the first month of the region’s wet season, so you can expect to see some rain if you visit at this time. If you don’t mind working around the wet weather, June can be a good time to visit if you like to avoid the crowds on your holiday.
Averages
In June, the average temperature in Playa del Carmen is 28ºC, with highs of 32ºC and lows of 25ºC. With these temperatures, you’ll need to use plenty of sun cream when you’re outdoors and keep the air conditioning on in your hotel room. Around 170mm of rain’s expected during June, so you’ll need to pack a waterproof jacket or umbrella to prepare for any downpours. There are still ten hours of sunshine each day in June, though, and the Caribbean waters are a lovely 28ºC which is perfect for swimming and snorkelling.
