What's the weather like in Montego Bay in May?
Located on Jamaica’s stunning north-west coast, Montego Bay is a picture-perfect destination ideal for relaxing beach holidays. There’s warm weather all year round due to its tropical climate, although this also means that most months have quite a bit of rain. In May, downpours are relatively common, but they don’t usually last for long and it’s still much drier than other times of the year. There are still ten hours of sunshine each day in May, so you’ll have plenty of opportunities to relish some sun at the beach.Averages
The average temperature in Montego Bay is 27ºC in May, reaching a high of 30ºC in the peak of the afternoon. Temperatures only drop to 23ºC after dark, so you’ll need plenty of sun cream for during the day and air conditioning in your hotel room for the nights. Montego Bay expects around 100mm of rain spread across 12 days this month, although tropical downpours are usually short and sharp and shouldn’t affect your trip. The Caribbean Sea is a beautiful 28ºC in May, perfect for swimming and snorkelling.
