What's the weather like in Punta Cana in September?
Located on the east coast of the Dominican Republic, Punta Cana has a tropical climate with warm temperatures all year round. Although September is in the wet hurricane season, Punta Cana still boasts clear blue skies, hot sunshine and warm Caribbean seas at this time of year. If you choose to visit in September, make sure you pack for all weathers and prepare for the warm, tropical heat.

In September, the average temperature in Punta Cana is a warm 28°C, and with highs of 31°C you’ll need to apply sun cream regularly and seek shade in the peak of the afternoon. After dark, temperatures reach lows of around 25°C, which is still perfectly warm for an al fresco meal or cocktails at one of the beachside bars. At this time of year, Punta Cana expects around 130mm of rain across the month. Although this is quite a lot, on average the resort only has around five wet days, with short-lived yet heavy showers in September.
