Unlike many other travel companies we operate on a trust account model. Once we’ve paid the airline for your flights, the rest of your money is held in a trust account. We do not have access to this directly and can only withdraw funds when you are back home from holiday
All of our holidays that include flights are protected by the ATOL scheme from the moment you book. So if one of our suppliers fails, you’ll get your money back. If you’re left stranded abroad, a flight home will be arranged at no extra cost. Our ATOL number is 11806
As proud ABTA members we deliver the highest standards when it comes to our holidays. So if you book with us you’re guaranteed the best service. Our ABTA number is P8283, Y6720.
What’s the weather like in the Dominican Republic in May?
Located in the northern Caribbean, the Dominican Republic shares an island mass with Haiti. Its tropical climate brings consistently warm weather all year round. May can be quite showery on the island, with the northern shores seeing more rain than the south. If you do experience rain, it’s often a refreshing change from the warm springtime heat. You may want to wait until the dry season though, which runs from June to November, for more sun and less rain.
Averages
On the north coast of the island, Puerto Plata has an average temperature of 26°C in May, with highs of 31°C in the afternoon. Humidity’s often high at this time of year, so you’ll be grateful for regular dips in the Caribbean Sea, which is a lovely 27°C. Overnight, temperatures go down to a pleasant 20°C. There’s a high chance of showers as 170mm of rain usually falls over the course of the month. In the south of the island, temperatures are also 26°C on average, but the chance of rain is lower, with 60mm expected in May.
