What’s the weather like in Bahamas in September?
Thanks to the Caribbean-like climate, the Bahamas weather in September is very warm and packed with glorious sunshine. These beautiful islands, found in the Atlantic between Florida and Cuba, will have some tropical showers as it’s the wet season in the Bahamas.
Geographical influences
There are more than 700 beautiful islands that make up the Bahamas. Islands in the north, like Andros and Grand Bahama, are slightly cooler and windier than those in the south. The islands are low and flat and warm Atlantic winds blow across them easily, meaning there’s little difference in coastal and inland temperatures.

The weather in Bahamas in September has an average high temperature of 31°C during the day. The average low’s just 21°C, but most days are several degrees higher than this. Southern islands such as Inagua and Long Island will be a couple of degrees warmer. You’ll catch a good deal of sunshine this month, with about seven hours each day, and the sun doesn’t set until 7.15pm in September. The water’s an amazing 29°C at this time, so you may fancy a splash to cool off. September’s a wet month in the Bahamas and it gets an average of 178mm of rain across 22 rain-affected days. You’ll need a waterproof jacket in case you get caught in a shower. The wind speed’s moderate and won’t make you feel cold, but the UV, heat and humidity levels are high.
