The location of Cape Verde in the North Atlantic Ocean off the west coast of North Africa means the islands enjoy hot weather all year round. Nicknamed the ‘African Caribbean’ there’s a few differences in weather across Cape Verde, although you'll get lots of sun and hardly any rain if you go there at this time.

Climatic variances

Cape Verde gets hardly any rain at all, even though it’s a tropical island. Some islands get more rain than others, with popular Sal and Boa Vista among the driest.
