Vancouver is a vibrant cultural city on the west coast of Canada, close to the US border. The region’s maritime climate brings Mediterranean-style seasons to the city, with warm, dry summers and cold, wet winters. October marks the start of Autumn in the city, with mild temperatures, cool evenings and the chance of rain. If you visit this month, you’ll need to prepare for all kinds of weather.
Averages
In October, the average temperature in Vancouver is 10°C, reaching average highs of 13°C in the peak of the afternoon. After dark, temperatures dip down to a low of 7°C, so you’ll need plenty of warm layers and a winter coat for your visit to Vancouver this month. Around 100mm of rain’s expected across 18 wet days on average, so the chance of rain is high this month. If you want to try out some water sports, the sea measures a chilly 11°C at this time of year so a wetsuit is a must-have.
