What’s the weather like in Bruges in February?
February is the last month of winter and temperatures slowly begin to increase at the end of the month. It’s the driest time in the season, which is great if you’d like to avoid as many showers as possible and get back to enjoying the Mediterranean sunshine.
Geographical influences
Bruges is located on the northern coast of Belgium and has cold weather for most of the year. It borders the English Channel but sea breezes are chilly and often bring temperatures down when they blow through the town. If you don’t mind the cooler weather, February is a great time to visit. The region is quiet at this time of year and February is the driest month in winter. This means you won’t have to worry too much about rainfall, but it’s still advised to include an umbrella in your bag in case it rains.
Averages
Bruges weather in February is cold with an average temperature of just 4°C, highs of 7°C and evening lows of 1°C. You’ll get at least three hours of sunshine per day with an average rainfall of 57mm. This means it rains on just five days of the month and there’s a good chance you won’t see a single rain shower during your stay. The sea is a bleak 7°C and far too cold for swimming, rarely reaching anything above 10°C.
