What’s the weather like in Thailand in March?
Lying just to the north of the equator, Thailand has a tropical climate of with high temperatures all year round. If you're going in March you can look forward to lots of sun and much less rain than at other times of the year. This is because March is in the north eastern monsoon season, so you'll be much drier than in the south western monsoon that’s from May to October. If it does rain, it’s usually not for long.
Averages
Koh Samui’s one of Thailand’s most popular islands and has an average high of 30ºC in March. This only falls to 24ºC at night, so you won’t need to bring many warm clothes with you. At 29ºC, the sea’s perfect for swimming, while humidity’s very high. There’s 54mm of rain over five days, and you can expect eight hours of sunshine from the 12 hours of daylight each day. UV levels will be extremely high so make sure you use plenty of sun cream. The sun goes down at 6.30pm.
