What's the weather like in Thailand in June?

Thailand has tropical weather as it’s just to the north of the equator. In June you can expect it to be hot and humid in most of the country’s popular holiday destinations, although there’s differences in the weather depending on where you’re going. The closer to the equator you are the hotter and more humid things get, while you'll get more rain in the mountains. June’s in the south east’s monsoon season, which runs from May to October and brings warm, humid and cloudy air in from the Indian Ocean. When it does rain, it’s usually over quite quickly.

    Averages

If you're going to Koh Samui in June you'll have an average high of 32ºC, so it’s lovely and hot. Things stay warm in the evenings so you won’t need anything more than some light clothes. A raincoat might be a good idea though as there’s 118mm of rain over 16 days. You can still expect 13 hours of daylight with six hours of sunshine each day though. UV levels will be high so pack plenty of sun cream. The sea’s perfect for swimming at a temperature of 30ºC, while humidity’s very high. Sunset’s around 6.40pm.
