What’s the weather like in Bali in April?

Bali’s just to the south of the equator which means this Indonesian island has a tropical climate, with high temperatures all year round. You'll see plenty of sun if you're going in April even though it’s the final month of the wet season. The western monsoon runs from late October to April and brings wetter weather than the eastern monsoon, which runs from May to October. It usually rains in short and heavy bursts, often in the morning, which clears quickly. Bali has a number of high mountains in its centre, including Mount Agung, and this area is generally cooler and wetter. The further away from the mountains you go, the warmer and drier you'll be.

Averages

Popular Kuta is in the south of Bali and gives you a good idea of the island’s weather. It has an average high of 31ºC in April and things stay nice and warm in the evenings, so it’s always shorts and t-shirts weather. At 28ºC, the sea’s perfect for swimming, while humidity’s very high. There’s 111mm of rain over 11 days, but you can still expect 12 hours of daylight with ten hours of sunshine each day. UV levels will be extremely high so remember your sun cream. Sunset’s around 6.15pm for much of April.
