What’s the weather like in September in Africa?

The Africa weather in September is quite similar to mainland Europe in peak summer. Countries like Morocco, Algeria, The Gambia and Kenya could reach 30°C. Resorts such as Mombasa, on the east coast, will have light tropical rains, and Banjul in the west will have over 200mm in short downpours through the month. It’s still a great time to visit Africa and there will be plenty of wonderful sunshine to enjoy.

The weather in Africa in September depends on which country you choose for your luxury holiday. If you head to the coast of Kenya, Morocco or The Gambia, for example, then you’ll enjoy a refreshing ocean breeze compared to inland cities. The oceans around Africa should be very nice at this time, at between 25°C to 28°C, with South Africa’s waters a little fresher at 18°C.
