Iberostar Selection Kantaoui Bay is a luxurious 5 star family-friendly seafront resort. It’s located 10km north of Sousse in what’s dubbed the Mediterranean’s first garden port. The hotel features a large outdoor pool area, surrounded by lush palm trees. Here, you’ll find underwater beds, sun loungers, an outdoor pool plus a segregated kids’ area. There’s two further places to grab drinks inside and another on the beach. So whether you’re after a delicious cocktail, an aromatic coffee or a fresh peppermint tea, they’ve got it covered.

The Star Camp programme provides fun for the children. 4-7 year olds can swing around in the monkey forest, while 8-12s can get acquainted with the underwater world at the dolphin club. The Old Town of Sousse is a UNESCO World Heritage Site that boasts a 9th century medina, including a ribat (fort), plus a mosque dating from 850AD. There’s also a selection of museums to visit. The most notable being the Sousse Archaeological Museum that claims to have the second largest collection of mosaics in the world.

While in the area you shouldn’t miss the opportunity to visit Monastir (38km away). Here, you can climb the imposing 8th century ribat for breathtaking views. If it looks familiar it might be because you recognise it from films, as it’s been used as a stunt double for Jerusalem. You also can’t miss the magnificent mausoleum of Habib Bourguiba with its imposing golden dome and 25-metre high minarets.
